Children’s Missions Conference Visuals

When it comes to getting your kids to connect at a heart level with children from other cultures, a picture truly is worth a thousand words. Are you hunting for visuals for an upcoming children’s mission festival or conference? I’ve been there. A few years back I scoured children’s magazines and calendars for colorful, engaging photos of boys and girls from around the world. I also looked for simple maps that would help my students locate where international children lived or where missionaries were serving. Here are some ready-made visuals that can make your preparation easier, bring your kids face-to-face with a lost world, and inspire your students to pray.

Photos

Caleb Resources offers a CD-ROM of 154 children's photos of boys and girls from a diverse range of unreached people groups in many different countries – Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, and many more! Formatted for use in multi-media presentations, newsletters, and bulletins, photos can print to a maximum of 8” x 10 “.

Posters

Wycliffe Bible Translators has a 24" x 36" poster of Bibleless peoples. Arranged in an A-Z format, illustrations show 26 people groups who still need the Bible in their own language. This is a beautiful companion piece to Wycliffe’s children’s book, From Akebu to Zapotec: A Book of Bibleless Peoples.

Banners

World Image Banners from the Assemblies of God feature captivating portraits of children and adults from around the world. Vinyl banners are 4’ x 6 ½’ with sturdy grommets for easy mounting.  Banners can be purchased individually or in a set of 12.

Maps and Globes

Caleb Resources’ Fabric World Map (3' x 5') comes with an activity sheet of suggested uses. This hemmed, cloth map is great for involving kids in praying for the world. In addition, check out this World Map Shower Curtain. Spread it on the floor. Then have kids take off their shoes and stand or kneel on the area of the world for which they are praying. Inflatable world beach ball globes also make great prayer tools. These come in two sizes, 12 inches and 27 inches.
